Travels, Summer 2001

6 albums
Pictures from three months of travel. I flew from New York to Zurich and spent three weeks in Switzerland and Austria before flying to Moscow to meet my friend Stewart. We took the trans-Siberian railroad as far as Irkutsk and then continued South by rail through Mongolia and finally to Beijing. After a week in China Stewart returned to Russia where he was stationed in the Peace Corps, but I traveled on my own in for another three weeks before returning to Oregon by way of Hawaii.

After traveling in Russia, Mongolia, and China I felt some culture shock upon my return to the United States. I especially appreciated how nice it was to be able to order food and know what you were getting, and to ask people for directions and understand the answers. Hawaii is a beautiful place, but sadly my camera gave in to the stresses of travel during my last day in Beijing, and so I only have a few pictures from Hawaii taken on a disposable camera. Contains 18 pictures.
