Cuyahoga Valley to Pittsburgh

I decided to visit the Cuyahoga Valley, a small forested area between Cleveland and Akron, because my Lonely Planet guidebook indicated there was a hostel there. It proved to be a very worthwhile stop, the hostel was a beautiful old farmhouse and the area felt surprising rural for it's close proximity to cities and freeways. In the morning I found a great hike to a waterfall that started right from the front door of the hostel. I explored a little more in the Cuyahoga Valley before heading on to Pittsburgh, where I spent a few days exploring the town that will be my home in the near future.
