Pictures from my cross-country road trip, September 11th
through November 2nd, 2000. I wanted to see as much of the world as
possible in my year off from school, and I figured I might as well
start at home. After all, it's close by and I speak the language. I
tried to stay off the freeways and followed no fixed itinerary so I
could explore interesting places frequently and without restraint. In
all it was a wonderful, challenging trip. I met interesting people,
slept in odd places, ate simple food, and I think I even expanded my
horizons. I certainly got a better perspective on the size and
diversity of this nation. Contains 16 subalbums.

Pictures from three months of travel. I flew from New
York to Zurich and spent three weeks in Switzerland and Austria before
flying to Moscow to meet my friend Stewart. We took the
trans-Siberian railroad as far as Irkutsk and then continued South by
rail through Mongolia and finally to Beijing. After a week in China
Stewart returned to Russia where he was stationed in the Peace Corps,
but I traveled on my own in for another three weeks before returning
to Oregon by way of Hawaii. Contains 6 subalbums.

A 4 week summer trip packed full of climbing. Stewart and
I spent a few days on some great alpine rock, then I joined Amy, Bill,
and Brian for Mt. Rainier. After that we relaxed with my parents for
a few days. Amy and I climbed Mt. Hood before driving to Banff where
I had a machine learning conference. After that we had three days in
the Bugaboos, three days in Squamish, and then back to Liberty Bell to
complete some unfinished business. Contains 12 subalbums.
